11 Jan Casa De Granada rooftop. A great view of Tirso De Molina
Hello rooftop lover!
I share with you the most one incredible rooftops in Madrid.
You´ll see another of the terraces that can be enjoyed in winter in the capital, so you can go to know it as soon as you finish reading this post.😍
A curious fact about this rooftop is that it’s very well hidden, so if someone doesn’t tell you about it, you’ll never know that it’s there. 😏
We arrived at Casa de Granada in Calle Doctor Cortezo 17, and all that you can see is a normal door, from an ordinary office building.
This door is usually open, but if it’s not you have to call by the intercom to the 6th floor.
When I go with someone who doesn´t know this terrace, they always ask me: Where have you brought me? 😱
1. A little bit of history
This association know as “CASA DE GRANADA”, born in 1880 because of the presence of Granada population in Madrid.
In 1957 it was integrated with the Houses of Almería and Jaén, on July 6, 1965, it was established as “Casa de Granada in Madrid”, and in 1968 it was registered in the Homeland Ministry, its first Statutes being approved on July 16, 1973.
2. Casa de Granada Rooftop
Upon reaching the sixth floor, you will see the “Luis Rosales” room, which is entered through a narrow corridor that leads to the Casa de Granada rooftop. 🤔
Don’t expect a fashion place. Casa Granada is a cozy restaurant, which has been open for a lifetime. 😉
Renovated only a few years ago, still has the same charm of yesteryear. 🥰
The best thing is the beautiful L shaped terrace, where you will be able to enjoy the best views of the Plaza de Tirso de Molina. 😍
You could see its fountain, Lavapies neighborhood roofs and the flower stalls. 💐
The terrace is glazed and fitted with stoves for the winter, so you can spend hours and hours admiring the views. 😍
You can go for a drink only or you can taste the food specialties form Granada at a very good price. 😋
Personally, I´m a huge fan of the Plato Alpujarreño, fried eggs, loin tape, smashed potatoes, fried pepper and chorizo. What can go wrong? 😋
3. Opening hours
