Happy spring, rooftop lover! It’s finally terrace time! Shall we go up on a rooftop? ?

Although it may not seem like it, rooftop season has arrived and it is here to stay. ?

But as you already know, the weather can still surprise us, so I’m going to recommend a rooftop that is open all year round (rain, snow or shine). ☔

This terrace is located on the second floor of the Barcelo Market and managed by Azotea Group, which also manage one of my favorite terraces, Círculo de Bellas Artes Rooftop. ?

Welcome to Forus Barcelo Rooftop! ☺

1. Barcelo Market

But first things first. I’m going to tell you a little bit about the history of the building where this rooftop is located. ?

Barcelo Market or Mercado Municipal Barcelo was a food market that opened its doors in June 1956, at number 6 Barcelo street in Madrid, in Malasaña neighborhood.

Between 2009 and 2014 the old market was completely reformed to turn it into the new Barcelo Multipurpose Center, which consists of a sports center, a public library and a market.

2. Forus Barcelo Rooftop

Forus Barcelo Rooftop is located on the second floor of the recently renovated Barceló Market.

You can get to this rooftop by the mechanic stairs that also gives access to the Forus Sports Center, from which this rooftop terrace takes one of its names. ?

I’m not going to deceive you, if you expect awesome views here you won’t find them, but this is one of the most beautiful and quiet rooftops that I know. ?

Forus Barcelo Rooftop has two completely separate areas.

The outdoor terrace for sunny days, where you can’t miss any of its rays, and the indoor lounge, so that during rainy or windy days you can enjoy this covered rooftop. ?☔

A couple of years ago, Forus Barceló Rooftop included a magnificent brunch on its menu, and I guarantee it is worth to try. ?

And that’s how they serve this brunch. It looks good, right? ?

If you want to go to lunch or dinner at Azotea Forus Barceló, you better book on its website because is always full on weekends. ?

3. The opening hours

Forus Barcelo Rooftop is open all year so you can enjoy it both in winter and summer. ?

The opening hours are:

Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. until midnigth.

Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
